Can a windows restore point get rid of a virus? (Redline Stealer)
On march 5th I was hacked with what I think was a Redline Stealer.
I would really appreciate if someone knowledgeable could enlighten me with these questions I have…
Are my files safe? I have a C and D drive, C for OS and D for archive. What is the likelihood that my archive drive (D) is infected and cannot back it up to another computer? As I understand the virus brought itself to life in the C drive.
The same day I got infected, I did a big windows update in the morning, which created a restoring point on my PC. I restored my PC to 7 hours prior to the infection but I have no idea if it worked as antivirus did never detect the virus… What are the chances my PC is clean from a restore point?
